Introduction

Founded in 1885, the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology has a proud heritage of excellence in preparing graduates to serve as leaders in engineering and science.

The university provides undergraduate and graduate degrees in science, engineering, and interdisciplinary sciences. There are 16 academic departments organized into two colleges: the College of Engineering and the College of Science and Letters.

A total of 33 degree programs in engineering and science are offered at the baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral levels.

Our students, in combination with an exceptionally talented faculty and great support from the community, provide an exciting environment for educational excellence.
