All new students are expected to attend a summer orientation program. This program will prepare students for the challenges they may face their first year of college. Students will have the opportunity to get connected to the campus community and build relationships with other new incoming students. Summer orientation sessions are listed below. Parents are encouraged to attend the Parent Sessions.
Orientation: FIRST Connections
FIRST Connections is an overnight experience on-campus at the School of Mines. Students stay in Peterson Hall with either their roommate (if they attend the same session) or with other students from their floor/building. Activities and games are planned to help students get to know one another - as well as learn more about campus and living in the dorms. The following day, students (and parents) take part in more detailed sessions about how to succeed as a first year student at the School of Mines - meeting faculty, staff, and more!
