Peer Advising

Qualified Peer Advisors are available to help students plan their course registrations for the upcoming semesters. These students not only understand the departmental curriculum, course sequence, and course prerequisites, but also understand the registration process. In addition to registration assistance, our Peer Advisors are trained to help students work their way through a number of university programs and procedures.

Peer Advisors provide basic advice or referrals in the following areas:

  • Registration
  • Financial Aid and Scholarships
  • Placement and Co-op Program
  • The Tech Learning Center (TLC) and Other Tutoring Services
  • Institutional Policies
  • Transfer Credit Practices
  • Student Organizations and Activities
  • Appeals and Grievance Procedures
  • Billings, Refunds, Deferments, Payment Plans
  • Course Offerings through the Dakota Digital Network
  • Library Services
  • Use of Online Services
