Computer Science

Computers are at the heart of many of the technologies that will transform our future and the role of Computer Science will continue to have a pivot role in innovation.  The Computer Science program at the School of Mines is ABET accredited and it has held this status longer than any other Computer Science program in the state of South Dakota. The program enjoys a great reputation with employers and is committed to training the next leaders in the profession. Students find themselves well prepared for a dynamic and exciting field and they are capable in all phases of software development including design, development, and testing. The department has a variety of computing platforms with a Linux lab and two laboratories dedicated to robotics and intelligent autonomous systems.
